Merry Christmas and an Announcement!

Merry Christmas!!  I hope you all are having a great Christmas like we are.  This Christmas means the world to me and my family.  Aiden has had such a great first Christmas and we are all so thankful! Having him here with us is the best gift!! This is a picture of him leaving cookies and milk for Santa and a few carrots for Rudolph! :)

Now for an announcement!!!  I have been wanting to post this all week, but we have been gone most of the time visiting family so I am so excited to share this news with all of you!  I am now a design team member for The Cutting Cafe  !! I want to thank Regina Easter and tell the rest of the design team that I am so excited to work with them. If you have never been to The Cutting Cafe click on the name or click here .  I have enjoyed this site for a couple of years now and to be a member of the design team is an honor and I can't wait to get started.  :)

Aiden's Calendar Continued...

A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I am working on a first year calendar for Aiden.  I already posted the October page....here is August and September.  I am having such a good time making this but it is taking me forever!! :)
I don't know if you can see it in all the Aiden things I post but I have a stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Best of Everything.  In that set there is a stamp that says "All I want for you is the best of everything".  I have used that stamp on everything that I craft for Aiden.  Sometimes it is hidden a little and sometimes it stands out.  I just think that stamp says everything!  As always I am going to end this post with a cute picture of my little guy!  He is such a mini me of my husband!  They are both too cute!
Thanks for stopping by today!

My Cricut Cartridge Holder

Hey everyone!  Last week I took a couple days off of paper crafting and did some wood crafting! I was running out of room to put all my cricut carts so I decided to build a shelving unit that would hold them all with some room to grow!  Each shelf will hold 16 carts.  Here is a view of it hanging on the wall next to my cricut table.
The cartridges used to line the back of my cricut table but soon were stacked every which way so I knew I needed more space.  So while I was at it I also built this wall shelf.  I am running out of room to put all of Aiden's pictures! :)  I really liked how this shelf turned out.  I am doing my best to cover the 1970'swood paneling in our basement.  I told hubby that we should tear it all out and dry wall it so I can paint.  He looked at me like I had lost my mind so I am trying to make the wood paneling work! LOL!

If you click on the picture it should enlarge enough for you to see the pictures of Aiden on top.  Now I can't leave you all without a picture of my sweet little guy!  He has the most adorable pouty lip there is.  I am going to be in REAL trouble when he gets older.  I doubt I will ever be able to say no to him!

I also would like to ask that you all send out some prayers for my friend Stacy . (If you click on her name her blog should come up.  I also have a link to her on the right side of my blog, she is "love that bug".)  Her grandson was born prematurely  at 26 weeks and he is struggling.  She posted the sweetest video of him and I know all of our prayers will help.  He is absolutely so adorable and he looks like a strong little guy.  Thanks and hugs to you all!

One Last Halloween Post! :)

Happy November!  I can't believe how fast time is flying by!  Aiden is now 12 weeks old.  I really hate how fast time is flying because that just means my maternity leave is going to end.  How do all you mothers do it?  I just can't imagine being away from my little guy all day.  I miss him when he takes a nap and am happy when he wakes up.  I'm going to have a terrible time when I have to leave him.  :(  But I am sure thankful for the time I have had at home with him.
Below is one last Halloween card that I made.  This is a shape card that I made in CCR using Paper Doll Dress Up.  The card is cut with the blackout.  I made the circle text in Word.

Hope you all had a super Halloween and that your November is off to a great start!

Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch!

Happy Halloween!
Right now (among a million other things) I am working on a "Baby's First Year" calendar for Aiden.  So far I have done the first 3 months and I was going to show you August first but I just loved the October page so much I had to show it first.  You will notice that the candy corn card was what I made last week.  I decided to use it on this layout along with the Petities Pennant builder punch from Stampin' Up to do the "Boo".  I used the owl punch to make the owls.  I just had a blast making this.  Fall is my favorite time of the year not to mention my little guy is just the cutest pumpkin that has ever been in the patch!  We had so much fun dressing him up and taking his picture.  He was really smiling and having fun!  Thanks for stopping in!

Grateful For Many Things!

Hi everyone!  Here is a really simple card that I plan on making for Thanksgiving.  I just love that "Grateful" stamp that is in the Falling Leaves set.  I have been using it a lot this year because there are so many things that I am grateful for this year.  The leaf is a die from Provo Craft that has a matching embossing folder.  Okay so speaking of being grateful, here is a picture of what I am most grateful and thankful for....Mr. Aiden :).
He just loves tummy time!
  • Falling Leave Stamp Set
  • Big Shot with the Top Note Die and the Finial Press Embossing Folder
  • Early Espresso Satin Ribbon
  • Ink:  Early Espresso
  • Paper:  Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
  • Word Window Punch
  • Fall Designer Paper from last year (Sorry, it is retired but I love it!)
Non SU
  • Leaf die and emboss set from Provo Craft
Have  a super weekend!

These Boots Are Made for Witches!

Hey everyone!  I was so excited to make this card because I found this cute pumpkin border punch at Jo Ann made by EK Success.  It is a little hard to see it because I made the card so that the pumpkins fold up and over the bottom.  :)
Here is a cute fall pic of my sweet little Aiden.
He is not quite sitting on his own yet (he is 10 weeks!) so I had my hand on him holding him up and took it away just as I snapped this pic.  So you can tell he is starting to lean! LOL!  He is sitting on an antique school desk in my living room.  I thought he looked so adorable next to the scarecrow.  And he must have been Ohio State's good luck charm because we actually won!
Anyway here are my supplies for the card:

Stamp Set:  Wicked Cool
Paper:  Peach Parfait, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, and a random piece from my scrap box
Ink:  Old Olive
Stampin Up Chalks were used to color in the socks on the boots.
The ribbon is from Bazzill and I used nesties for the circles and scallops.
Have a super day and thanks for stopping in!

Finally Crafting!

Hey everyone!  This picture shows why I haven't been posting!  LOL!  I made an entire card one-handed today.  As soon as my husband got home I told him to come take a picture of me crafting! He laughed because of me holding Aiden and how messy my craft space is! With only one hand I had to decide if I was going to clean or craft and I chose craft.
I have gotten some great emails from some of you and I want to say thank you!  I really have not had any time to craft but I decided that today was the day! :)  I took Aiden and went down to my craft room.  He slept for all of 20 minutes so I had to hold him and try to work on a Halloween card with the other.  He is NOT light.  We went to the Dr. last week and he was almost 13lbs then.  I can't believe he is 9 weeks old already!  Time is sure flying and I am loving every single second that I am home with him.  So I will post the card that I made tomorrow and I am already working on another one.  I would like to post at least 3 times a week because I have really missed it.
Here is a picture of my smiling cutie! See why I can't put him down while I craft??  He just melts my heart and I have to hold him.
Thanks for stopping by and to all of you who have continued to keep in touch and continued to come to my blog.

It's a BOY!!

Hi everyone!  Sorry I have kept you in suspense for so long!  Please welcome Aiden Michael to the world!  He was born on August 6 at 8:21 am.  I have been so excited to post this but have had no time as he keeps me very busy!  We are so happy and feel so blessed and I just love spending every second with him.  Now he is sleeping and I just want to go and hold him but I finally put him down to get a few things done.  Anyone else have that problem?  I just want to hold him all the time and never put him down.  It is hard for me to pass him around and let others hold him because I miss him! :)

I was induced on August 5 and after 21 hours of labor had a c-section so I got to experience it all! LOL!  It was so worth it and I am thankful for him every second of the day!

I hope all is well in the crafting world because I don't know how long it will be until I can get back to it.  I have a million things I want to do for him and get his scrapbook going.
Hugs to you all!

Baby Update!

Hi everyone!  I want to thank everyone for the emails that I have gotten lately about how the baby and I are doing, you all are so great!  I thought I better update you all as to what is going on.  I am almost 38 weeks along (the pic above was 36 weeks...I'm huge! :).  At my Monday DR. appointment this week my blood pressure was high so I have been back every day this week and my blood pressure is still high so now I have to do a non stress test and a BPP (biophysical profile ultrasound) 2x a week just to monitor things.  Due to my blood pressure I have been put on bed rest which is killing me! LOL!  It is so hard to just lay there and think of all the things that need done.  Luckily we are ready for the baby and are really excited.  I am just hoping that my blood pressure goes down and that its not going to complicate anything.  I go back to the Dr. in the morning to have everything checked again so hopefully we get some good news.  This bed rest better be working to lower my BP!  So thanks again to all of you for your emails.  I really appreciate it!  I will update you all soon!  Please put in some extra craft time for me!  I think it will be awhile before I can work on any projects! :)
Hugs,
Wendy

Hello Everyone! Blog Candy and a Thank You!

Wow I can't believe its been almost 2 months since I last posted.  Things have just been so crazy and I haven't even had the baby yet! :)  I have 8 weeks to go and now I am out of school and looking forward to doing a lot of crafting before the baby gets here.  Thanks to my followers who have stuck with me through my MIA time.  I have been in my craft room but I have been making blankets, bibs, and burp cloths.  I have also been altering my maternity clothes.  After all that not much time was left for paper crafting. LOL!

The card above is a thank you that I made to give to all the wonderful people who have been giving me baby things and maternity clothes.  I made this card with the Punch Bunch set that was a Sale a Bration set and it measures 4x4.
I have an extra of this set that I would like to give away as Blog Candy for all of my faithful followers! :)  All that you have to do is leave a comment here and be a follower.  I will pick a winner on Friday.  This is a clear mount set and each stamp has a coordinating punch that can be used with it.
Thanks again to everyone who has stuck by me! I've missed you all and I am off to go visit some of your blogs.

  • Ink:  Soft Suede and White Gel Pen

Receiving Blanket Card

Hi everyone!  I enjoyed the days that I worked on the owl receiving blanket so much that over the weekend I made a receiving blanket card! I gave this card to my hubby on Father's Day from the baby.  He really liked it and got a kick out of getting a card that was from the baby! :)  I am going to do a video on this card later in the week and will let you know when it is up.  Don't forget to register for the blog candy on the top post.

  • Paper:  SU Certainly Celery, Whisper White.  Checkered paper is K&Co
  • Ink:  Certainly Celery, White Gel Pen
  • Ric Rac in Sparkly White (from Jo Ann)
  • Scallop Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch
  • Stamp Set:  Fox and Friends
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!  I am hoping to relax a little more.  I am in the process of getting things ready for my substitute teacher for my 12 weeks of maternity leave that starts in August on the first day of school.

Baby Receiving Blanket Using Cricut

Hey everyone!  (Don't forget to register for the blog candy on the post above) I found this awesome sewing site:  http://sewmuchado.blogspot.com/2009/05/ric-rac-receiving-blanket-tutorial.html and I followed the directions to make this receiving blanket.  The above picture is the blanket hanging up so you could see the whole thing.  I used Cricut Craft Room and the Hoot and Hollar cartridge for the owl applique piece on the blanket.  I sized it as large as I could and then I adhered Heat n bond to the back of the fabric.  Then I placed it on my mat, fabric side down.  I used the multi cut function and had it cut 3 times.  Then I ironed it on the blanket and used an applique stitch to go around it.
Here is a close up of the face.  I used a scallop circle from nestabilities to do the eyes and the buttons are Stampin' Up.  The nose I cut free hand.
Here are some close up pics of the edging on the blanket:

All the fabric and ric rac came from Jo Ann's.  Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget that I am giving away blog candy on the post above.
Have a great day!

Happiness!

Hello to everyone!  I made this card awhile back for an anniversary and I just never got a chance to post it.  This was a SU template that I saw (I think!) or I saw it somewhere but anyway I decided to try making a card using it and I really like how it turned out.  You could change the sentiment and stamp a cupcake on the circles to make it a birthday card or many other possibilities.  I stamped the sentiment (which is retired...sorry) on twill tape and attached it with brads.  I cut the circles out on my cricut at 1".
  • Cardstock:  SU Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
  • SU Ribbon is 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon in Early Espresso
  • Versamark ink
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
