Hello Everyone! Blog Candy and a Thank You!

Wow I can't believe its been almost 2 months since I last posted.  Things have just been so crazy and I haven't even had the baby yet! :)  I have 8 weeks to go and now I am out of school and looking forward to doing a lot of crafting before the baby gets here.  Thanks to my followers who have stuck with me through my MIA time.  I have been in my craft room but I have been making blankets, bibs, and burp cloths.  I have also been altering my maternity clothes.  After all that not much time was left for paper crafting. LOL!

The card above is a thank you that I made to give to all the wonderful people who have been giving me baby things and maternity clothes.  I made this card with the Punch Bunch set that was a Sale a Bration set and it measures 4x4.
I have an extra of this set that I would like to give away as Blog Candy for all of my faithful followers! :)  All that you have to do is leave a comment here and be a follower.  I will pick a winner on Friday.  This is a clear mount set and each stamp has a coordinating punch that can be used with it.
Thanks again to everyone who has stuck by me! I've missed you all and I am off to go visit some of your blogs.

  • Card stock:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
  • Ink:  Soft Suede and White Gel Pen
  • Stamps:  Punch Bunch, Short and Sweet

Receiving Blanket Card

Hi everyone!  I enjoyed the days that I worked on the owl receiving blanket so much that over the weekend I made a receiving blanket card! I gave this card to my hubby on Father's Day from the baby.  He really liked it and got a kick out of getting a card that was from the baby! :)  I am going to do a video on this card later in the week and will let you know when it is up.  Don't forget to register for the blog candy on the top post.

  • Paper:  SU Certainly Celery, Whisper White.  Checkered paper is K&Co
  • Ink:  Certainly Celery, White Gel Pen
  • Ric Rac in Sparkly White (from Jo Ann)
  • Scallop Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch
  • Stamp Set:  Fox and Friends
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!  I am hoping to relax a little more.  I am in the process of getting things ready for my substitute teacher for my 12 weeks of maternity leave that starts in August on the first day of school.
Take care,

Baby Receiving Blanket Using Cricut

Hey everyone!  (Don't forget to register for the blog candy on the post above) I found this awesome sewing site: and I followed the directions to make this receiving blanket.  The above picture is the blanket hanging up so you could see the whole thing.  I used Cricut Craft Room and the Hoot and Hollar cartridge for the owl applique piece on the blanket.  I sized it as large as I could and then I adhered Heat n bond to the back of the fabric.  Then I placed it on my mat, fabric side down.  I used the multi cut function and had it cut 3 times.  Then I ironed it on the blanket and used an applique stitch to go around it.
Here is a close up of the face.  I used a scallop circle from nestabilities to do the eyes and the buttons are Stampin' Up.  The nose I cut free hand.
Here are some close up pics of the edging on the blanket:

All the fabric and ric rac came from Jo Ann's.  Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget that I am giving away blog candy on the post above.
Have a great day!
