Going To Grandma's Bag (Sewing with Cricut and Big Shot)

Hello! I made this little draw string bag for my dog to take to his grandma's! :) His name is Brody and I cut out those letter with the cricut and I also cut out the bone using the cricut (paper pups). The Scallop Square was cut with my big shot and Stampin' Up! Die. The overall bag measures about 8x9. I made it just big enough to carry a small bag of food and his medicine (he has epilepsy).I had a ton of fun making this. Thanks for looking!

Oh, and here is a picture of my little Brody! He is such a doll. He is about 13 years old or more. He is from the pound so we are not sure on age. We have had him about 9 years now and the vet guessed he was 4-6 years old when we got him. He just loves to lounge on the couch in the basement while I am in my craft room!

Business Card Box

Hi everyone! I decided to make this little box to hold my business cards. It is the same box that I already posted a while ago but it measures 3 1/2 x 12 instead of 6x12. Scroll down to my June 7th post (Thank you Card Box) to see directions on making the box. I used SU Patterns Designer Series Paper in Chocolate Chip and I used Cherry Cobbler and the Scallop Edge punch. I punched my name out of one of the business cards using the word window punch and attaching it to the bottom corner. The bow is twill tape.

  • Because I Care Hostess Set
  • Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Card Stock
  • Whisper White Craft Ink
  • White Embossing Powder

More Apple Blossoms

Hello! I just can't put this set down!! Here is the next card that I made using this Hostess set. I can't post a pic of the set until July 1st. The new Stampin' Up! catalog goes live then!! Yay!

This is an up close shot of the ribbon. I sort of accordion folded it and then sewed it in place.

I punched holes in the scallop to add a little something!

SU Ink is Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler.

  • Cherry Cobbler ink

Crazy for Quilt Cards!

Hi Everyone! I had a lot of fun making the faux quilted Father's Day card that I tried some more.

I made this card for a Scrapbooking Class that I am teaching on Monday. I am hoping that everyone will like making it. I thought it would be perfect for a class because it can easily be customized.

Now I decided to make a couple cards that WERE quilt squares. I used the Stampin Up! Scallop square Die with my Big Shot. I scored the top square so that the card would open easily and then I adhered it to the bottom square. On this card I used the stamp set called Sweetheart. I love this set so I am really excited that it will be in the new catalog. It also coordinates with the heart shaped treat cups! Papers were from my scrap basket ( I picked out all my polka dot papers) and the ribbon is from Jo-Ann's. The ink is the new Cherry Cobbler and the paper is Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.

This card also used Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla and 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Black

I also wanted to give a shout out to Goatesgirl! She has a wonderful blog and she has a beautiful card using faux stitching. It is a really cute quilted card. Check it out here: http://lovelifecrafts.blogspot.com/2010/06/blog-post.html

She also said that these quilted papers will cut easily with the cricut. So I am off to try that!

Thanks for looking!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day! I have noticed a lot of people doing a faux quilting technique on their cards and I thought I would try it for the card that I made for my dad. If I could remember all the places I have seen this done, I would give credit. It was probably on one of the many wonderful blogs that I follow! :) Anyway here is my take on it and I tried to choose "manly" colors. All squares are cut at 1". Then I sent it through my Big Shot and used the Top Note Die. I used Stampin' Up really rust for the background. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes. All of the papers were out of my scrap basket.

The next card I made for my husband and I used the treat cups with a scallop that punched out. The cut out size is 1 3/4 (for the treat cup). I used Stampin' Up! Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Wild Wasabi. The ribbon is from basic grey and I cut the leaves using the Birds and Blooms Sizzlit Pack from Stampin' Up!

I actually used my own handwriting to write "A Sweet for my Sweet"! I never do that because I usually don't like how it turns out. I used mini choco chips to fill the cup. The little heart was cut with Design Studio using George.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope you all enjoyed spending time with dads! Have a great week!

Hoot 'n' Holler...I Love Owls!

Hi everyone! I am finally done with school so I have had a little time to craft! I was at Wal-mart the other day and actually saw one of the new Cricut Lite Carts....Hoot 'n' Holler, which is one of the ones that I wanted so I got it and made a father's day card, some misc. owls, and a video of the cartridge. I was excited to do a video to show the differences between the new lite carts and the others. Here is the Father's Day card:

This is owl #12 cut at 3 1/2 inches. I used Stampin Up! CS in Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso.

This owl is # 17 and I used the same colors as the last owl. Below the picture is a video of the cartridge and this owl.

Thank-You Card Box

Hi everyone! I just finished making this cute little box to hold thank you cards. It is the end of our school year and I wanted to have thank you cards on hand to send to some of my students families. I know that I said I was done using the apple from Preserves but I used it again! :) Here is the box:

Here is what the cards on the inside looked like:

I cute the apple at 3 1/2 inches and I used Stampin' Up! Real Red and Chocolate chip. I used K and Co. for the yellow inside part of the apple. The yellow lined paper is just actual paper off of a yellow legal pad that I cut to fit and I used a fiskars punch to give it that torn notebook look.
To make the box I used the Presto Patterns paper (which I have a video on youtube that shows how to use this paper(***update, my video lighting was bad so I am going to put the video on youtube tomorrow. Sorry!). I used Old Olive ink with the new Cherry Cobbler paper for a border. The border was cut at 2 1/2 inches then I used the scallop edge punch. I used my SU scallop punch and my nestabilites for the circles. The ribbon is SU chocolate chip.

The cute little caterpillar is from the set First Day (which is in the summer mini).

Here is how I made the box. Sorry for all the pictures. I am hoping to make a video of it soon.
First take a piece of cardstock cut at 6x12

Then you are going to score it at: 4 1/4, 5 3/4, 10, and 11 1/2.

Next score at 1 1/2 along the bottom

Last, make 4 cuts then fold the box in. You will need a good adhesive for this. I use zip dry.

Thank you for visiting and I really do hope to have a video of this up soon. School is just going on forever this year! One more week!! :)
