My First Blog Hop With Some WICKED COOL Projects

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to be in a blog hop!  I hope that you have a chance to hop along and see some really cool projects.  Everyone involved in this hop is from Team Chic n' Scratch and we have all created cards or other items using a new stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog! (If you still need a catalog, send me an email.  If you purchase one you will get a free stamp and Stampin' Spot!)

Please hop over and check out the previous blog Danielle and the next blog: Tracie

Now here is a closer look at my projects. I just couldn't wait to use the new set:  Wicked Cool.  Here is a pic of that set.  I really like using the clear mount stamps.  This set is $14.95 for the clear mount and $19.95 for the wood mount.

For the first card I used the bats as a small background and then I used my marker on one single bat to stamp beside the Spooky sentiment. I used my paper piercer and mat pack to make the holes under the Spooky.

For the second card I embossed the spider webs with black craft ink and I cut apart the stamped sentiment then I popped them up.  Here is a closer look at that:

For my last project using this new set I made this cute little treat bag!  I, of course, had to use my owl punch somewhere! I will post a tutorial on this treat bag on Monday.  Please stop back! :)

  • Card stock colors are:  Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White

  • Ink Colors:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive Craft ink in Basic Black

  • Embossing Powder and heat gun

  • Paper Piercer and Mat Pack

  • Textured Impressions Embossing Folders in Square Lattice and Perfect Polka Dots

  • Bigz Clear Die in Scallop Square

  • Punch:  Two step Owl Extra large

  • Ribbon is 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain in Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you can hop along on this blog hop.  Have a crafty weekend!

Need Your Opinion and I got the Cherry On Top Award!!

Hi everyone!  I noticed that The Cutest Little Blog On The Block is going to delete some backgrounds.  They do have a way I can change it and save it but my question is.....should I be done with the cherries??  I am really wanting to change my blog background and header but I want to know what you all think?  I really value your opinions...Here is a picture of a header I was thinking about using:
Is it too much???  Should I keep the cherries, use this, or go with something else totally different.  Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions.  Now on to the award!! :)

I want to thank my friend Audrey for giving me this award!  She is a great blogging friend and I love her!  Just click on her name to see her blog and all of her creative projects!!
The rules in accepting this award are:

1.  you must thank the person who passed it on to you,
2. copy award to your blog.
3.  list three (3) things you love about yourself,
4.  post a picture that you love on your blog, and
5.  pass award on to five (5) others

Okay so I did the first 2 things...now 3 things I love about myself are:
1.  I picked a great husband who supports my crafting habit!
2.  I have never met a dog that I didn't instantly love.
3.  I love being with my family more than anything else.
Now, the picture thing was hard because there are tons of pictures that I love. So I have to post 3.  The first one is funny to my husband and I because he goes to bed really early (because he gets up REALLY early) and I am always trying to keep him up to talk to me!
The second picture is of my brother and I.  He is a lot taller than I am (well who isnt? ha!) but he is always taking "Long Arm" pictures of us.  This is one of my favorites!

And the last picture is from when the Australia wild fires were going on.  I got this picture in an email and it is just a cool picture!  So Sweet!

And now here is the hard part:  Trying to pick ONLY 5 people to give this award to!  I love all of the blogs that I follow so it was hard to pick.  Here they are, please have a look! :)
2.  Carri
4.  Stacy
5.  Melissa

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I got the new owl punch from Stampin Up so I will show some projects with that!!  It is my new favorite tool!

Sewing with the Cricut!

Hi everyone! I wanted to add some pizazz to my teacher chair that I use in my classroom so I decided to add some applique using my favorite apple from the Preserves cartridge!  I know I say that all the cartridges are my favorite but I think this one really IS my favorite! LOL!  My chair is a directors chair (see more pics below) so it is canvas.  The fabric that I used for all the applique was canvas with the exception of the stem, seeds, and leaves.  The leaves were a really heavy upholstery fabric.  So since the fabric was so heavy I put heat and bond paper on my cricut mat and put the pressure setting to low.  Then I cut out everything on the heat and bond.  I used Learning Curve for the ABC and 123.  Then I ironed the pieces onto the corresponding fabrics and sewed them onto the chair back.  I had a blast doing this!  The cricut is such a wonderful tool!  Thanks for looking!

You Are My Sunshine!

Happy Saturday!! I made this scrapbook page a few weeks ago and I haven't had a chance to post it yet. I made this for a class that I did. I used the Just Because Cards Cartridge, which I love! It is funny because when I first got that cartridge I didn't use it at all and I didn't think that I liked it. Now it is my go-to cartridge and I have not used it to make any cards! Ha! All my projects with this cartridge have been layouts. Anyway I have since put 2 pictures on this layout of my little dog Brody! The background paper is Bazzil and the flowers were punched from paper in my scrap basket. The other card stock is from Stampin' Up! Have a great day and thanks for looking!

Hi everyone! I am so excited because my friend Audrey (who has a wonderful blog that you can view here: Audrey ) gave me a blog award! I can't thank you enough Audrey!! (blog award is below)
I even had a little time to craft today and I made this "Missing U" card using the alphabet stamp from SU First Day. I cut the U with SCAL and the arrow with design studio. Cardstock is SU Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

So for this blog award I have to tell 7 things that I love so here goes:
1. I love my family and my crazy dogs.
2. I love to craft in ALL of my spare time.
3. I love waking up early and it still being dark out.
4. I love thunderstorms.
5. I love summer because I am a teacher and I don't work summers.
6. I love the snow! Maybe because of snow days!! Ha! But really I could probably live in Alaska and drive a snow cat for half the year and be so happy!
7. I love my blogging family. You all are so great!
So now I am going to give this award to 3 people:
Stacy
Becca
Shari
These ladies have wonderful blogs!!
