Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day! I have noticed a lot of people doing a faux quilting technique on their cards and I thought I would try it for the card that I made for my dad. If I could remember all the places I have seen this done, I would give credit. It was probably on one of the many wonderful blogs that I follow! :) Anyway here is my take on it and I tried to choose "manly" colors. All squares are cut at 1". Then I sent it through my Big Shot and used the Top Note Die. I used Stampin' Up really rust for the background. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes. All of the papers were out of my scrap basket.
The next card I made for my husband and I used the treat cups with a scallop that punched out. The cut out size is 1 3/4 (for the treat cup). I used Stampin' Up! Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Wild Wasabi. The ribbon is from basic grey and I cut the leaves using the Birds and Blooms Sizzlit Pack from Stampin' Up!
I actually used my own handwriting to write "A Sweet for my Sweet"! I never do that because I usually don't like how it turns out. I used mini choco chips to fill the cup. The little heart was cut with Design Studio using George.
Thanks so much for looking and I hope you all enjoyed spending time with dads! Have a great week!
Such cute cards! Love the candy flower!
ReplyDeleteWendy,
ReplyDeleteI love the card, and the quilting is fantastic on it.
I also love the candy flowers. I need to get me some of those treat cups.
